Virtual Lactation Consultant & Owner of Genuine Lactation

I’m a mom and virtual IBCLC who has been where you are! Breastfeeding meant overcoming several challenges for me, and I know how hard it can be to get the help you need with the traditional model of care. I designed my lactation practice to help remove barriers to care and make the experience of breastfeeding help a more natural process for new families.

Helping breastfeeding families meet their personal goals is my passion. I believe all breastfeeding families deserve competent, compassionate, evidence-based care from prenatal breastfeeding education to weaning.

I support informed infant feeding options.

Many breastfeeding families worry about being pressured by a Lactation Consultant to breastfeed as the only option for infant feeding. I support families in making informed infant feeding choices, whether that be direct breastfeeding, pumping, formula feeding, or any combination of feeding options. You will receive judgment-free support when working with me, no matter what your goals are. I am credentialed by IBCLE as an IBCLC Lactation Consultant and by ALPP as a Certified Lactation Counselor. Patti Cross | M.S.Ed, CBS

Educational Planning Consultant

I began working with Genuine Lactation in 2020 as the business began to grow and expand. Jessica’s vision to create a platform for parents and other lactation professionals to find the information they need, personally and professionally, has immense growth potential and impact.

I have an M.S. Ed. in Curriculum Design and am a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist. I enjoy getting to learn more and work in an industry that has historically been underserved. It is amazing to see how far lactation care has come for parents, and I hope the programs that we develop will serve families and lactation professionals in ways they never thought possible.

I am a mom of 3, two by birth and one through adoption. I bottle fed my first child due to negligent lactation care, nursed my second for two years after working with a skilled lactation consultant, and due to the age of our adopted child, no lactation care was needed.
