The One Pumped Mama Minimalist Pump Bag

I can’t lie, this bag sold me the minute I saw the ad. I am not normally an impulse buyer, but this had to be purchased on the spot. It was just too pretty with too many nice features not to check out!

The part that caught my eye was that it was specifically designed for pumping moms, by a pumping mom, yet, it didn’t scream “pump bag” or even “kid bag.” It’s a fairly simple, elegant looking bag that promises to make pumping easier for moms. It’s available in 3 different colors: black, gray (Cloud) , and tan (Latte) with just a slight sheen to the vegan leather giving it a feel of sophistication, and it comes as a 3-piece set.

Price

This 3-piece bag set is $149.99, and it can be purchased on the One Pumped Mama website.

Initial Thoughts

Honestly, this bag is fantastic, and has really blown me away with the clear attention to detail. You can tell that this bag was designed by a pumping mom, and by a parent. The straps that convert easily from backpack to crossbody, the loads of zippered pockets in various places in the bag, the ability to remove the pump sleeve after that stage of the journey, all come together as a complete and functional package.

I want to call out the packaging on this bag though - this packaging is not what I would expect from a $150 bag. That’s a fairly standard price for a higher-end pump bag, but this packaging made this pump stand out! You open the box and it’s in a gorgeous satin dust bag that makes you feel like you just got a product that was priced far higher than it is. And, the product feels just as high-end the whole way through! The zippers glide easily, the straps convert one-handed, accessing pockets is easy, and even removing and reinstalling the pump sleeve took less than 2 minutes!

The pump sleeve and opening on this bag are smaller than many pump bags, and is likely more well suited for smaller, more compact pumps - for example the Motif Luna Pump and the Medela Sonata fit beautifully. The Spectra S1, S2, and Synergy Gold do not fit.

Overall, my initial thoughts on this bag are that this is a bag that is going to be usable from birth to weaning and beyond! This could be used with the vast majority of pumps on the market, and is more reasonably sized for smaller and more portable pumps than a lot of other pump bags.

Using this Bag With Wearable Pumps

This bag was not designed for wearable pumps, but would be very usable with wearable pumps. The pump sleeve could be used to hold wearable pumps in any of the protective cases used for them. I would not recommend using this bag for loose wearable pump hubs as there is not a dedicated pocket intended to protect your expensive pumps in this way. This pump bag would carry your wearable pumps and the accessories needed for a full day of pumping no problem!

Does This Bag Hold a Laptop?

I was able to fit my 13-inch MacBook in the back pocket of this bag without any issue, but it was a snug fit. It held my kiddo’s tablet beautifully though! This would be a concern if you needed your pump bag to double as your work bag with a larger computer.

Who would I recommend this bag for?

I would honestly recommend this bag for any pumping parent who didn’t feel they needed an oversized bag to tote one of the larger pumps on the market, or didn’t need a universal bag that would hold everything they needed to pump AND all of their work gear. One of the things I really liked about this bag was that it would have made sense for me to carry when I was a stay-at-home mom with my kids. I didn’t need the gigantic work style bag, but I didn’t love the cutesy diaper bag style bags either. This is the type of bag I would have loved with my Willow Pumps and with my Pumpables Pumps which were my portable options! It’s a bag that will accommodate your needs and let you feel stylish like you treated yourself to something nice.
